According to The Athletic, Arsenal are really keen to sign RB Leipzig’s American star Tyler Adams this summer.

The 22-year-old has been a really exciting prospect to watch in the Bundesliga for a couple of years now. Adams has played over 150 times for club and country already, and it’s only a matter of time before he becomes a household name.

The Gunners are on the lookout for a new right-back with Hector Bellerin set to leave the club this summer. We’ve been linked with a whole host of names already, but Adams is arguably the most exciting one yet.

The American, naturally a right-back, is capable of playing in three other positions. He is solid as a defensive midfielder, has the technical ability to play as a number eight, and he has also featured as a winger higher up the pitch.

That sort of versatility is a boon to every manager, and it is no surprise that Arsenal are keen. However, Leipzig have already lost Dayot Upamecano and Ibrahima Konate this summer, and it is hard to imagine that they will consider selling another one of their star players.

However, if Arsenal really want to get back to the very top, Edu has to get these deals over the line, but it really is unlikely at this point.

Arsenal target Tyler Adams has been compared to Gareth Bale

It is no secret that Arsenal had the chance to sign Gareth Bale when he was a kid at Southampton. Arsene Wenger decided to go with Theo Walcott instead and the Welshman ended up moving to Tottenham Hotspur.

Bale became a superstar at Spurs and later at Real Madrid, and that really annoyed Arsenal fans. Luckily now, we may sign a player who has the exact same attitude and mentality as Bale.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright’s son, Bradley Wright-Phillips, said about Adams in 2019: “Gareth Bale! I saw a similar attitude.

“I’m not saying they’re the same player, or he’s going to have the same career as (Bale), but they both have a mentality where they know what they’re good at and they’re not afraid when they step out on the field.” (Goal)
