According to a report from Give Me Sport, Arsenal will try to re-sign former Gunner Glen Kamara this summer if moves for our other targets become impossible to complete.
The Gunners are on the market for a new central midfielder. Granit Xhaka is set to leave the club in the coming days, and although we’ve brought in Albert Sambi Lokonga, we will need another top-quality player to partner Thomas Partey in the middle of the park.
My Revenge On Ben Foster
The likes of Yves Bissouma, Ruben Neves, Manuel Locatelli, Sander Berge and Eduardo Camavinga have all been linked with a move to the Emirates. Each one of them will cost a substantial amount, and that could price Arsenal out of a potential deal.
As a result, the Gunners are monitoring Kamara, who Edu views as a cheaper alternative to our other targets.
Arsenal consider Glen Kamara as an alternative to Ruben Neves
Kamara has had a fantastic 12 months under Steven Gerrard at Rangers. He played 51 games in all competitions last term and helped the Gers win the Scottish Premiership. He’s a key part of their side, but a return to England could be a tempting opportunity for the midfielder.
Kamara, now 25, spent five years in Arsenal’s academy. He played a ton of games for our youth sides, but only managed one senior appearance during his time here. He left us on a free transfer in 2017, and he has developed into a fine player now.
The report claims that Arsenal would ideally like to sign someone like Neves this summer, but a deal for the Wolves star will be expensive. If we can’t reach an agreement with Wolves, Mikel Arteta is open to making a move for Kamara, who will be considerably cheaper.
Kamara is the most underrated player ever
Kamara grew up with a number of Arsenal youngsters who later featured in the first team. One such player is Alex Iwobi and the Nigerian, now at Everton, claimed earlier this year that the Rangers star is the ‘most underrated ever’.
He told Footy 258, as quoted by Glasgow Times: “Glen Kamara. Most underrated ever. Ask anyone that was at Arsenal. You can ask anyone, they can vouch.”

Former Charlton and Milwall youngster Tomi Adeloye added: “When he was on loan and I used to speak to {at Colchester and Southend} people were saying that he used to do things in training that no-one could ever imagine doing.”
