Arsenal have been offered a chance to sign Juventus and Argentina superstar Paulo Dybala, according to 90Min.
The Gunners are on the lookout for a creative attacker ahead of the January transfer window. Mikel Arteta’s side have won just four of their opening 11 games in the Premier League and we need some sort of boost to get our season back on track.
A massive signing in January could change our fortunes in the second half of the season. A replacement for Mesut Ozil is a necessity and Dybala might just be the man we need to solve our problems in attack.
The Argentine is a world-class attacker but game time has been hard to come by in Turin. Andrea Pirlo has handed Dybala just six starts in all competitions this season.
That has raised doubts in the former Palermo man’s camp. Dybala’s agents want to get him out of Juventus as soon as possible, and Arsenal – along with the rest of the Premier League’s traditional top-six – have been offered a chance to sign him.
Dybala has a little over 18 months left on his contract. The Argentine, who turned 27 a few weeks ago, is entering the prime years of his career, and he will not be short of options in January or at the end of this season.
Should Arsenal move for Dybala?
In the Serie A this term, Dybala averages 1.7 key passes per game – more than every Arsenal player. (Sofascore) He was incredible last season as well as he scored 17 goals and provided 14 assists in all competitions.
With Ozil out of the picture, Arsenal need a creator and Dybala fits that bill perfectly. Not many managers need convincing to sign a player of the Argentine’s quality, but if Arteta needs assurances, Aaron Ramsey’s opinion of him should do the trick.
The Welshman told The Athletic in June: “I can just confirm that Dybala is an unbelievable player. He’s very gifted — a team player — and some of the things he’s done in training and some of the games this season has been quite breathtaking.”
