Report: Atletico Madrid director has held talks with Arsenal star Hector Bellerin

Spanish outlet Marca claim today that La Liga champions Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Arsenal star Hector Bellerin this summer.

The 26-year-old has been a Gunner for over a decade now but it does look like his time in North London is coming to an end. He is no longer Mikel Arteta’s first-choice right-back, and this summer seems like the perfect time for both parties to part ways.

Bellerin has been linked with multiple clubs over the last few months. Paris Saint-Germain have been been in the news since last summer, while Real Betis have also reportedly entered the frame over the last few days.

The Spaniard was never really short of offers ahead of the summer window, but with Atletico Madrid now coming in, he’ll have a real tough decision to make about his next club in the coming weeks.

Diego Simeone’s men are set to lose Kieran Tripper this summer. The former Tottenham man wants to return to the Premier League, and there’s a good chance that his wishes will come true before the start of next season.

Arsenal star Bellerin has held talks with Atletico Madrid already

Atleti director Andrea Berta is on the lookout for replacements and he really likes Bellerin. The report claims that he has had different discussions with the Arsenal man already, and he views him as the perfect player for Simeone’s system.

Arsenal are looking to raise as much money as possible through player sales, and Bellerin is one of our most valuable assets. If only Real Betis come in with an offer, we will have no choice but to sell him for a smaller than usual fee.

However, with the increased competition now, Arsenal may well get the £21.5 million we are reportedly looking for. That is a fair price for the Spaniard, who is still only 26 and is more than capable of moving back to Spain to become one of the best right-backs in La Liga next season.

Atleti will likely have to wait till Trippier is sold before they can lodge a bid for Bellerin. That could open the door for other clubs to come in as well, which is amazing for Arsenal as it will only drive his price up this summer.
