Arsenal are on the market looking for a creative player. We need some sort of spark in midfield to get the best out of our attackers and it is no surprise that we have been linked with plenty of attacking midfielders.
However, that isn’t the only position Mikel Arteta wants strengthened. The Arsenal boss is also looking for a deep-lying midfielder and Brighton star Yves Bissouma is his top target for that role this month.
The Mali international has arguably been the most underrated midfielder in the Premier League. He is excellent on the ball, is positionally disciplined and is defensively sound.
A big move is just around the corner for Bissouma and Arsenal might have an edge over other interested clubs.
Bissouma is a Gooner
Football London claim today that Bissouma is an Arsenal fan. The 24-year-old knows Gabriel Magalhaes very well and he is reportedly open to a move to the Emirates this month.
But Football Club revealed that the Brighton man is valued at around £25 million. That isn’t that big an amount for a player who has been brilliant in the Premier League for a couple of years now.
Bissouma would also be the perfect partner for Partey. The two Africans can complement each other brilliantly and that would make our midfield one of our best in the league.
A move for Bissouma and a creative attacker is unlikely in this window. However, stranger things have happened in the past, and if Edu can pull this off, it could well be his biggest achievement yet as Arsenal’s technical director.
