According to a report from CalcioMercato.it, Arsenal are battling the likes of Chelsea, Juventus, Inter Milan, Ajax, Shakhtar Donetsk and Lyon in the race to sign Santos teenager Kaio Jorge.

The 19-year-old is slowly making a fantastic name for himself in Brazil. Compared to Neymar because of his allegiance with Santos, Jorge is viewed by many as the next big thing to come out of Brazil.

The teenager, naturally a centre-forward, can play on the flanks, as a false nine and also as an attacking mdifielder.

He is good with the ball at his feet, links play well and his finishing is not too bad either, especially considering that he is still only 19.

Jorge’s current contract will end at the end of this year. Santos are desperate to tie him down to a new deal, but considering the interest he is receiving from some of Europe’s elite clubs, he should be out of Brazil very soon.

The report claims that Arsenal, along with multiple other clubs, have made contact with Jorge’s agent Giuliano Bertolucci. It’ll be interesting to see how this pans out, but with Edu at the helm, we should fancy our chances.

Another brilliant Edu find?

Edu’s connections in Brazil are outstanding. He brought Gabriel Martinelli to Arsenal in 2018 and the teenager became an instant hit. Many feel he is one of our best players at the moment, even though he has barely played this term.

There is absolutely no doubt that Martinelli has a massive future ahead of him. He has all the qualities to become one of the best players in the world in the coming years, and Jorge could well follow him.

The Santos youngster is similar to the former Ituano teenager in some ways. His versatility, movement and the way he shoots is very much like the Arsenal man, and if Edu really is keen, we could have another Martinelli at the Emirates very soon.
