According to a report from Brazilian outlet UOL, Willian is really irritated at Arsenal and wants to leave before the window shuts next week.
The 33-year-old has had a torrid time at the Emirates since his move last year. He found it impossible to get going in the first half of last season and he quickly found himself at the bottom of Mikel Arteta’s pecking order.
It’s clear that Arsenal want him gone and it’s no secret that he wants to leave as well. However, a shock report from Brazil has made it seem like we’ve let Willian down, not the other way around.
Willian is ‘irritated’ at Arsenal
The report claims that Arteta and Edu promised Willian an ambitious project that would see Arsenal among the top of the Premier League. He was also reportedly told that he’d be our biggest signing last summer, which clearly wasn’t the case.
Arsenal were woeful last season and Willian was arguably our most criticised player. He allegedly feels that the Gunners didn’t live up to their promise and the report claims that he is ‘irritated’ as a result.
Willian now wants nothing to do with Arsenal. He has asked Edu to let him leave before the window shuts next week and it looks like Corinthians are leading the race for his signature at the moment.

The Insider’s View:
Not everything that’s published on the internet is true and it really makes no sense to believe them. However, if this report about Willian’s current state of mind has any truth in it, it’s one of the most baffling things Arsenal fans have heard all summer.
Yes, Arsenal haven’t had a great time in the league since Willian came in. However, Arteta gave him numerous chances to help us last season and he barely managed to do anything right in his 37 appearances for us in all competitions.

The best thing for all parties now is to part ways. Willian clearly doesn’t want to stay and we don’t want him either. Hopefully, Edu can sort out a deal with Corinthians and send him on his way before things get worse.
