According to The Sun, Arsenal are preparing to sell both Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi in the summer.

The Gunners are reportedly looking to cash in on multiple players at the end of this season, and the two midfielders who are currently out on loan are expected to be the ones who are set to make us the most money.

Guendouzi fell out with Mikel Arteta after the game against Brighton at the end of last season. He didn’t play a single minute of football after that and was subsequently shipped out on loan to Hertha Berlin.

Torreira, on the other hand, is on excellent terms with Arteta. However, he wanted regular game time at the Emirates and the Arsenal boss wasn’t prepared to promise him that this season.

He joined Atletico Madrid on loan in the summer and sadly, things haven’t quite worked out for him. Torreira has barely played for Atleti this term and if reports are to be believed, neither Arsenal nor the Uruguayan is happy with the situation.

The former Sampdoria man, along with Guendouzi, is expected to return to Arsenal in the summer. Arteta has no plans of keeping hold of either midfielder and he is hoping to sell both of them.

Arsenal want £50m for Torreira and Guendouzi

The report claims that the Gunners are hoping to sell the two midfielders for £25 million each. That is a realistic amount considering their age and quality, but there are other factors that could hurt us.

Guendouzi will have just one year left on his contract once he returns from Hertha this summer. That will weaken our hand in potential transfer negotiations and Edu will have to pull something out of the hat to get a good fee for him.

Torreira will have two years left on his deal when he’s back which puts us in a good position. However his lack of game time this season will certainly have an effect on his transfer value, and that again is a problem for Edu to deal with as he hopes to get £25 million for him.
