According to a report from The Sunday Mirror (print edition, August 29th, page 66), AC Milan are interested in signing Arsenal attacker Willian.

The Gunners are desperate to get rid of the Brazilian before the transfer window shuts on Tuesday. Willian doesn’t want to stay either and he’s doing everything he possibly can to find a new club to end what has been a miserable year for him.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

Reports over the last week led us to believe that the former Chelsea man could return home to Corinthians. However, it now looks like AC Milan could make a late push to sign him in the next two days.

AC Milan are ready to pay to sign Willian

Almost every Arsenal fan was certain that Willian will leave the Emirates for free. However, good old Ivan Gazidis’ team at AC Milan are reportedly willing to table a decent bid to convince the Gunners to sell the Brazilian.

The report claims that the Rossoneri are willing to table a £7 million bid plus potential add-ons to sign Willian. That’s music to every Arsenal fan’s ears, but Edu is looking to do something that would make that music sound even better.

Our technical director, who played a massive part in signing Willian last year, is reportedly asking for £9 million. That may be a bit too greedy, but if Edu can pull it off, it will be one of his best moves at the Emirates.

Gazidis could do Arsenal a huge favour

Arsenal are currently paying Willian an eye-watering £220,000-a-week salary – only Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Thomas Partey earn more.

Many felt the best-case scenario for Arsenal would be to tear up his contract and push him out of the door. However, if the report about Milan’s move is true, the Gunners could be about to hit a jackpot here.

£7 million is not a lot in today’s game but it’s a ton of money to get for someone who’s only costing us. If Gazidis and co put anything close to that figure on the table, Arsenal should thank them, accept the offer and run away before they change their mind.
