Italian outlet CalcioMercato revealed earlier this year that Arsenal are interested in signing Santos wonderkid Kaio Jorge this summer.
The Gunners’ network in South America is absolutely incredible. Edu Gaspar’s knowledge of exciting young players in and around Brazil is second to none, and Jorge may well have caught his eye.
Jorge, still only 19, is one of the most exciting talents in South America at the moment. Despite his young age, he has played 75 games for Santos’ senior squad already, and fans of the Brazilian club are convinced that he will go on to achieve great things in Europe, just like Neymar has since leaving them.

Arsenal have been heavily linked, but it looks like Ivan Gazidis’ AC Milan are pushing to sign him now. Jorge has less than six months left on his contract at Santos, and he could be available for a bargain fee in the coming weeks.
TMW claim that Milan are still debating whether to fork out some money now or to wait until the end of this year so that they can sign him for free. They have reportedly entered negotiations with Santos, and the report reveals that the Brazilian side want a fee in the region of £8.5 million plus add-ons.

Arsenal have had a lot of success signing players from the Brazilian league in recent seasons. Gabriel Martinelli has become a real star in North London, while Pablo Mari has been a good signing as well. Jorge could well be Edu’s next big find, but it won’t be easy to sign him.

Arsenal-linked Kaio Jorge has been compared to Ronaldo
Any exciting young attacker from Santos will be compared to Neymar, but Jorge has drawn comparisons to a few other big names as well.
Goal revealed last year that Jorge has been dubbed as the ‘new Ronaldo’. That’s not Cristiano, it’s El Fenomeno, who’s still regarded by many as the greatest centre-forward to ever grace the game.
Just when you thought that the Neymar and Ronaldo comparisons were a bit too much, former Napoli star Andre Cruz decided to throw another name into the ring and compared Jorge to AC Milan hero Andriy Shevchenko. (Read here)
Jorge has a lot of hype around him at the young age of 19. That’s probably why Edu was so keen to sign him, but it’s unlikely now.
