According to Sport, Arsenal stars Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are attracting interest from La Liga giants Barcelona this summer.
Yep, you read that right. The mighty Barcelona who couldn’t hold on to Lionel Messi are now keen to sign one of Arsenal’s best players before the transfer window shuts later this month.
The Catalans, as admitted by their boss Ronald Koeman, are looking for a new striker. They need someone to come in and the report claims that they will move for one of Auba or Laca if they can sell Martin Braithwaite in the coming days.
Aubameyang and Lacazette would be ‘delighted’ to join Arsenal
It is no secret that Arsenal are trying to sell Lacazette this summer. The Frenchman has entered the final year of his contract and this window is the last chance for us to make some good money through his sale.
Aubameyang, on the other hand, still has two years left on his deal. He is our captain, and although his performances over the last 12 months have been nowhere near the level required, he is still a very important player for us.

However, the report claims that the two Arsenal strikers, labelled as ‘fantastic’ by Virgil van Dijk, would be delighted to join Barcelona and wear the colours of the Blaugrana before the transfer window shuts.
Can Barca afford Auba or Laca?
Even if Arsenal are prepared to sell Aubameyang and Lacazette, it really doesn’t look like Barcelona can afford them.
The Catalans, after failing to keep hold of Messi, had to rely on Gerard Pique taking a pay cut to register two of their new signings. That shows how bad their financial situation is at the moment, and that should rule out a move for the two Arsenal stars.
However, the report claims that Barcelona may try a swap deal to convince Arsenal. Although Sport doesn’t name the player who could be included in the deal, Spanish journalist Alex Rodriguez has revealed that Philippe Coutinho is the one.
The Brazilian has been linked with a move to Arsenal many times in the past, but signing him in a deal that would see one of our best players go the other way would arguably be the worst move Edu has made at the Emirates so far.
