It has been over 15 months since Unai Emery faced the sack at Arsenal. The Spaniard had a terrible second season at the club, and it was the right time to end things.
Emery has always been appreciative of Arsenal and has only wished us well. He may not have too many fans around the Emirates, but Gunners supporters will always thank him for giving the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli a chance in the first-team.
The Spaniard is now at the helm at Villarreal. The Yellow Submarine started the season very well, but they haven’t been great lately. They are currently seventh in the table and are in desperate need of reinforcements.
Emery is on the lookout for a new centre-half to replace Pau Torres who is expected by many to move on this summer. The Villarreal boss has a name in mind to bring in, but that will not go down too well among Arsenal fans.

El Gol Digital have revealed that Villarreal are looking to sign Pablo Mari in the summer.
The Spaniard, labelled as a leader by Mikel Arteta, joined us 13 months ago but has only played 12 games for us. Injuries have been extremely cruel on Mari, but whenever the former Flamengo man has played, he has looked absolutely incredible.
That, predictably, has caught Emery’s attention, who is still keeping a close eye on Arsenal. The former Gunners boss is now looking to make a move this summer and he reportedly believes that he can get Mari for as little as £4.3 million.

Look elsewhere, Unai
There is absolutely no way Arsenal will consider selling Mari this summer, especially for that reported fee.
The Spaniard, technically, is our best defender. His positioning is incredible and his anticipation of danger is second to none at Arsenal. He may not be our first-choice defender, but he is extremely important to us, and there is no way Arteta will allow his predecessor to get him.
It’s great to know that Emery still keeps an eye on Arsenal, but he’s not getting any of our players. If he really wants Mari, he might have to cough up four or even five time the fee that we paid for him, which simply won’t happen.
