West Ham United are currently in a place where Arsenal would have loved to be in. The Hammers are currently fourth in the Premier League table, just five points behind second-place Manchester United.

David Moyes is doing a phenomenal job and it won’t be a surprise to see West Ham in Europe soon. The Irons will have strengthen their side massively to cope with that and a new striker has to be a priority.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

Sebastien Haller left the club in January and the Frenchman wasn’t replaced. Michail Antonio is West Ham’s only natural striker at the moment and if a new report is to be believed, Moyes is eyeing a move for an Arsenal player to strengthen his attack this summer.

The Daily Star has revealed that the Hammers have Eddie Nketiah on their wish list. The young Englishman, labelled ‘extraordinary’ by Mikel Arteta (Metro), has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal.

Nketiah has played just 10 minutes in the Premier League since the turn of the year. He’ll enter the final year of his contract this summer, and it is very likely that he will be sold.

It will be interesting to see what Arsenal demand for him. He is an incredibly talented young player, and there is a very good chance he will go on to become a top striker in the league. However, his transfer value is nowhere near where it should be due to the length of his current contract.

Arsenal Insider’s view:

It is very likely that Nketiah will leave this summer. He won’t get the game time he needs at Arsenal and with just a year left on his deal, the Gunners will look to cash in on him instead of making the same mistake as we’ve done with Folarin Balogun.

West Ham would be an excellent destination for Nketiah. His style is slightly similar to that of Antonio and with a little work under Moyes, he could be the man for them for years to come.

There is a good chance that Nketiah will turn out to be a goal-machine in a few years’ time. Inserting a buy-back clause will be a smart move by Arsenal, but whether West Ham will accept that is a whole different story.
