Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that Arsenal starlet Charles Sagoe Jr is set to leave the club on loan on transfer deadline day.

Charles Sagoe Jr will be hoping to enjoy some regular senior football away from Arsenal in the second half of the campaign.

The 18-year-old winger has made one first team appearance for the Gunners, when Mikel Arteta handed the Hale End academy ace his debut earlier this season. Sagoe Jr was included in the starting XI as the north London club beat Brentford in an EFL Cup fixture.

With that experience under his belt, which was one that club captain Martin Odegaard ensured was made special for Sagoe Jr, the youngster has now been deemed ready for the next challenge in his career.

According to Fabrizio Romano, reporting on X, Swansea City have agreed a deal to sign Sagoe Jr on loan until the end of the current season. The move is expected to be officially confirmed later on transfer deadline day.

What Charles Sagoe Jr must do at Swansea to impress Arsenal

Arsenal clearly enjoy a cordial relationship with the Welsh outfit, as Charlie Patino is already currently enjoying a temporary stint with the Championship club.

Patino and Sagoe Jr will know each other well from the Arsenal academy system, and the midfielder, who has already made a positive impression at Swansea, will be able to help the latest loan arrival from Arsenal settle into his new surroundings.

Sagoe Jr faces stiff competition to make the grade at Arsenal. As a winger comfortable on either flank, he has the likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Reiss Nelson, and Leandro Trossard all ahead of him in the first-team pecking order at the Emirates Stadium.

If he is to stand any chance of being considered for involvement in Arteta’s first-team plans next season, Sagoe Jr surely has to make a spectacular impact at Swansea in the coming months.
