Arsenal have done a tremendous job on transfers since Andrea Berta arrived at the club.
Edu Gaspar did well in his own right when he was at the helm, but the new Gunners sporting director exceeded all expectations with eight new signings in the summer.
Now, Berta is looking ahead, and he is closing in on the signings of Ecuadorian twins Edwin and Holger Quintero.
Arsenal sign Edwin and Holger Quintero
Coach compares incoming Arsenal wonderkids Edwin and Holger Quintero to Ronaldinho
South America has always been home to incredible young players in football, and it’s about time that Arsenal tap into that market.
When Edu signed Gabriel Martinelli in 2019, every fan thought that their club would be at the front of the queue for talent from Brazil and other South American countries.
That never happened, but Berta is all set to pull off a transfer masterstroke with the Quintero twins.
The two teenagers are both attackers. Edwin plays on the right wing, while his brother Holger is naturally a central attacking midfielder.
The twins are viewed as huge talents, and one of their former coaches, Juan Carlos Burbano, has compared them to Brazil icon Ronaldinho.
Speaking to El Comercio in Ecuador, he said: “People pay to see good football. They are going to give you spectacular plays. They are Ronaldinho type.
“Juggling, bikes, whatever you can imagine, but they should know when; first think about the team and then about that.”

Mikel Arteta will love working with the Quintero twins
If Edwin and Holger Quintero are anything like Ronaldinho, Arsenal fans are in for a treat.
The Brazilian is one of the greatest players to ever grace the game, and he was an inspiration to millions back in the day.
Even Mikel Arteta loved Ronaldinho, so much so that he named the former Barcelona man as his greatest-ever teammate, having played with him at PSG.
He said in September 2024: “I’ve played with so many, but the best player I have ever played with is Ronaldinho, by far. He would have the energy to come into that stadium and transform it in 10 seconds. I have never seen a player who’s able to do that.”
That is why the Arsenal boss will love working with the Quintero twins when they move to the Emirates in 2027.
