Arsenal are expected to be busy on transfer deadline day.

The Gunners have made three signings so far in this window – David Raya’s loan was made permanent, Riccardo Calafiori was brought in from Bologna and Mikel Merino arrived from Real Sociedad.

All three of those additions make Arsenal stronger, but there could be at least one more signing, if not two, before Friday night’s transfer deadline.

The Gunners are up there with the best teams in Europe, and the fact that they have been in two consecutive title races and also made it into the quarter-final of the Champions League shows their level.

Arsenal have top-class players in every position on the pitch, but that hasn’t been enough to dethrone Manchester City in the Premier League.

Many people like Alan Shearer believe Arsenal need a new striker to win the title, and that seems to be on the minds of Arteta and Edu.

It’s unclear if it will be an out-and-out striker, but Kaynak has revealed that Arsenal will ‘definitely’ try to sign a new forward on deadline day.

He said: “Arsenal are definitely trying to get a forward. There are a few irons in the fire between now and deadline day on Friday and Arsenal have kept tabs on their targets all summer.

“Obviously, Nico Williams was the preference, but that’s not looking likely to happen as things stand.”

Arsenal fans will be glued to their phones and televisions on deadline day, hoping to see their side sign a new attacker before the window shuts.

However, that’s not the only position they are looking to strengthen.

Arsenal have tabled a bid to sign Joan Garcia from Espanyol. The Spaniard is the chosen one to replace Ramsdale, and the Gunners are expected to push for his signature on deadline day.

It remains to be seen if Espanyol will come to an agreement with Arsenal. If they don’t, Edu will have to trigger Garcia’s release clause to get the deal over the line.
