Brentford boss Thomas Frank has responded to transfer links between Bryan Mbeumo and Arsenal following the forward’s impressive display against the side.
The winger scored in typically clinical fashion against the Gunners, moving on the counter-attack to finish an effort through the legs of Riccardo Calafiori and beyond the outstretched hand of David Raya.
With very few chances, the 25-year-old is becoming renowned for taking his opportunities when they come and as a result, it comes as little surprise that Arsenal have been linked with a transfer for Mbeumo.
It remains to be seen if Mikel Arteta and the hierarchy will pull the trigger on a potential £50million deal in the January window though.
There is some defiance from Brentford boss Frank though, amid talks of Mbeumo moving to Arsenal this month.

Thomas Frank responds to Bryan Mbeumo to Arsenal transfer rumours
As Arsenal have been rumoured with a move for Mbeumo, Brentford have naturally responded by shooting down the possibility of an exit.
Frank discussed the star’s display, as well as his potential exit, when speaking to the media after the match.
“Bryan Mbeumo was really good,” he told the press. “And I was really pleased with that. For me, it shouldn’t be a problem to keep him.”
That may come as a slight surprise though, given that the Cameroon international has a deal running until 2026 – leaving just over one year remaining at the Gtech Community Stadium.
If the winger shows little sign of signing a contract extension, that may work in Arsenal’s favour in the future.
That may not come soon enough though, with reinforcements needed as soon as possible in the January window to make an immediate impact in the current Premier League title race.

Bryan Mbeumo showed Arsenal why they should sign him
Arsenal clearly need a versatile forward option who is capable of adding immediate quality on the right flank, but may need to feature as a squad player at other points.
Mbeumo fits that role perfectly, having shown his clinical nature on the right flank when given time and space to run at defenders.
Similar to Leandro Trossard in some ways, the 25-year-old can feature up front or on the left flank too, with a knack for finding the back of the net.
If Arsenal are to compete on all fronts, then they need quality and strength in depth to be able to win everything possible.
Mbeumo offers that and more, regardless of what Frank says about a deal, a move could still be pursued.
