Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Joao Felix, and it appears that Thomas Partey could soon play a role in bringing the Portuguese superstar to the Emirates Stadium.
According to the Athletic, the Ghana international is still in regular contact with his former Atletico Madrid teammate, with the duo playing one full season together before Partey moved to Arsenal in 2020.
As per the report, Arsenal are interested in signing Felix, with a loan deal being explored between the Gunners and the attacker’s agent, Jorge Mendes. However, Atletico’s current financial demands are too much for the north London side to consider.
Partey could swing Felix transfer race in Arsenal’s favour

Signed from Benfica for a reported £113m, Felix is one of the most expensive players in the history of football. And in the grand scheme of things, the Portuguese forward could go down as one of the biggest flops in the game, with Atletico already looking to offload the 23-year-old.
And as a result, Arsenal could soon find themselves in a position to sign Felix, especially with Partey now in regular contact with the Portuguese international. Though with Manchester United and Chelsea also interested, it would still take quite the undertaking for the Gunners to win the race for the attacker.
Indeed, Partey’s influence could be what ultimately decides the transfer. Though with Arsenal’s attacking four in fine fashion and Mykhaylo Mudryk likely to join the north London side this month, squad management and finances in the transfer kitty could be what stops the Atletico outcast from joining the Gunners.
