Arsenal’s deal to sign Viktor Gyokeres is far from complete, despite talks accelerating over a move to North London this summer.
The Swedish international has been heavily linked with the Gunners, with Andrea Berta picking between two clear options.
Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko have been the frontrunners this summer, with other surprise options like Ollie Watkins and Hugo Ekitike lurking in the background.
However, in recent days, Arsenal have stepped up talks to sign Gyokeres in a move that could finally solve the striker issues they have faced.
Berta is claimed to have flown to Portugal for face-to-face talks over a deal, but the finish line isn’t in sight yet.
Instead, Arsenal face the potential threat of a price rise that could scupper the move as a whole.

Viktor Gyokeres’ price could hike due to his agent as Arsenal talks move forward
Arsenal’s talks to sign Gyokeres have been progressing nicely, with plans moving on to more serious discussions.
There has been hope that the Gunners could seal a transfer in the range of €60 million (£51.7 million), but that may not be possible.
That’s because there could be a price hike coming, according to Portuguese outlet A Bola.
It’s stated that there is a clause in Gyokeres’ contract that could see his agent take ten percent of any offer on the table.
If that clause is triggered, then it’s claimed that Sporting will raise the price of the deal to his full release clause, €100 million (£86.1 million).
That could put the deal at serious risk, given the decision Arsenal have already made on other potential moves in the market.

Viktor Gyokeres’ deal could be at risk with a price hike after Arsenal’s decision on Benjamin Sesko
Arsenal had seemingly made their decision for the striker ranks, but the Gyokeres deal could be at serious risk with that potential price hike.
While it’s unclear if the club would pull out of a deal, their decision on Benjamin Sesko could well point to the call that will be made.
It’s been stated that Arsenal have proceeded with Gyokeres over Sesko due to a difference in overall price for the pair.
While it was believed that Gyokeres could be signed for cheaper, RB Leipzig were not budging on their €90 million valuation of Sesko.
Given that the expense would now be cheaper than any price hike for the Swedish international, it’s unclear what that would mean for Arsenal and their striker decision now.
There are a few big weeks ahead and several moving parts that the Gunners will be looking at before they can get a deal over the line.
