Arsenal’s pursuit of Viktor Gyokeres continues to drag on, and the latest report may only go further to increase tensions between the Gunners and Sporting CP.
As it stands, Andrea Berta has been locked in talks over a move for Viktor Gyokeres for some time, with an outline of an agreement reached.
The current sticking point appears to be surrounding payment structures and add-ons, with some compromise needed to reach the final agreement.
There may be some growing frustration over the situation, as there was some hope that Arsenal would have their new centre-forward in time for the pre-season tour of Asia.
Instead, there’s still work being done on the transfer and the Gunners face yet another potential twist in their way.

Manchester United now close to agreeing Viktor Gyokeres transfer fee
While Arsenal are in talks to sign Gyokeres, the deal is far from complete, and there could still be plenty of twists and turns ahead.
One potential problem could be the emergence of a rival to sign the striker, with Manchester United seemingly back on the scene.
According to SIC Noticias, Man United are now close to agreeing a fee with Sporting CP for Gyokeres in a stunning turnaround.
It’s claimed that the deal with Arsenal is now “at risk”, with the Red Devils now willing to meet a fee over the €70 million (£60.7 million) mark.
After months of approaching the deal, there’s no doubt that the sudden swoop from Man United would infuriate Berta and all of those at Arsenal.
That may not be the end of things, though, as there are still plenty of things left to sort out in the transfer saga.

Viktor Gyokeres can help Arsenal secure transfer
While Man United may well have re-entered the race for Gyokeres, Arsenal do have an ace up their sleeve.
The player’s preference could have a huge say on how the move concludes, which so far, has been giving priority to the Gunners.
While that could change, especially if it continues to drag on, that preference could force Sporting to lower their demands.
Arsenal will have to wait and see where things go, but they clearly have a price in mind that they want to stick to, which will be key in finding a deal that’s right for them.
