It is unclear who exactly Arsenal will target in the January transfer window, but it appears that a target in Victor Nelsson is now guaranteed to leave his club Galatasaray.
The 25-year-old centre-back was linked with Arsenal in previous months, and the Emirates has again been mooted as a possible destination for him.
Nelsson is now set to leave Galatasaray, with it almost certain that he will not appear for the Turkish side again, and will move for the right price in January.
Arsenal target Victor Nelsson is set to move
A report from Turkish outlet Aksam has now claimed that Nelsson is available for transfer, with the player experiencing a “crisis with the technical team,” but it would require a club “record” sale to secure him.
His reported asking price of €19m (£16.6m) would exceed their record sale of Badou Ndiaye to Stoke in 2017, as well as other major sales including Arda Turan’s 2011 move to Atletico Madrid.
Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Ajax are the clubs reportedly interested in a move, with Edu Gaspar eyeing the defender up to add depth to Mikel Arteta’s side.
What would Victor Nelsson bring to Arsenal?

Arsenal could do with more depth at centre-back, as they found out the hard way how much the team would suffer without William Saliba.
However, Arsenal’s defensive depth includes players who are able to play in multiple positions across the back line, with Jurrien Timber and Takehiro Tomiyasu able to cover across the defence.
Nelsson has only played as a centre-back for Galatasaray, and at 1.85m tall, may not have the aerial presence as brought to the side by Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.
However, if Arsenal do elect to bring Nelsson in, he can provide extra depth at the back, which could be crucial as the Gunners aim to compete in all four competitions for the rest of the season.
