David Ornstein has reported on The Athletic that Arsenal starlet Folarin Balogun is about to sign a pre-contract with a foreign club ahead of a free transfer in the summer.

The 19-year-old has entered the final six months of his contract at the Emirates. Balogun is one of our brightest prospects. He has already proven his quality in the Europa League, but he is yet to sign a new deal.

Mikel Arteta and Edu have been working really hard to convince Balogun to stay. The Arsenal boss even confirmed last month that the youngster had told him that he wants to stay at the club, but that seems to have changed now.

Arteta hinted today that Balogun’s agent is the reason behind the complications. (Read here) The teenager’s representatives want to him take a lucrative deal elsewhere, and it looks like that will happen now.

Ornstein has revealed in his report that Arsenal contract offers has not increased substantially in recent months. Our proposal isn’t even close to meeting Balogun and his agents’ demands, which is a real shame.

As a free-agent, Balogun stands to make a ton of money in the summer. He can sign a pre-contract with a foreign club now, and if Ornstein is to be believed, that will happen in the very near future.
