Arsenal are expected to sanction a number of departures before the transfer window closes.
Andrea Berta has spent months exploring potential sales, and with several players entering the final year of their contracts, the club knows this is the last realistic opportunity to generate meaningful fees for them.
One player who appears certain to leave is an academy graduate who was once tipped for a huge future in North London – Reiss Nelson.
Now, despite suffering relegation to the Championship, West Ham United are reportedly interested in giving him a fresh start away from the Emirates Stadium.
👀 Who is the FIRST Arsenal player Andrea Berta must sell this summer?
West Ham want to sign Reiss Nelson from Arsenal
Nelson’s future has looked increasingly clear for some time.
The winger will enter the final year of his Arsenal contract and has fallen so far down the pecking order that a permanent exit feels inevitable.
A successful loan move last season could have increased interest in his services, but unfortunately, things did not go according to plan.
Nelson spent the campaign at Brentford, but injuries repeatedly disrupted his progress and limited him to just 339 minutes of football across all competitions.

That lack of game time means clubs are taking a calculated gamble rather than signing a player with recent momentum behind him.
According to ExWHUEmployee, as relayed by Claret & Hugh, West Ham are one of those clubs.
The report claims the Hammers are interested in signing Nelson, provided the player is willing to play Championship football following the club’s relegation on the final day of last season.
That could prove to be the biggest obstacle.
At 26 years of age, the ‘excellent’ Nelson may feel he still has more to offer at Premier League level, but regular football could be difficult to turn down after such a frustrating year.
Who is the one Arsenal academy player you thought would become a superstar but never did?
Reiss Nelson had massive potential but failed to fulfil it at Arsenal
There was a time when many Arsenal supporters expected Nelson to become a first-team star.
The Englishman was one of the brightest talents to emerge from Hale End, blessed with pace, technical quality and the ability to make things happen in the final third. His performances at youth level suggested he had everything required to succeed at the highest level.
Unfortunately, football does not always follow the script.
Whether through injuries, competition for places or simply unfortunate timing, Nelson never managed to establish himself as a regular starter in the Arsenal first-team. There were flashes of quality and memorable moments along the way, but they were never consistent enough to secure a long-term role in the team.
A fresh start is probably what both parties need now. It is a shame things never fully worked out, but a move away from Arsenal may finally allow Nelson to rebuild his career and show the player many thought he would become.
