Arsenal are still looking to add to their recent flurry of signings by acquiring Eberechi Eze.
The Gunners have already signed Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard this summer, while Noni Madueke, Viktor Gyokeres and Cristhian Mosquera are all expected to join this week.
Beyond that, Andrea Berta’s priority is bringing in a creative midfielder who can ease the burden on Martin Odegaard, whilst also competing for a spot on the left wing.
Mikel Arteta believes Eze is the missing piece, and the Crystal Palace man certainly fits the aforementioned profile perfectly.

A ‘very reliable source’ believes Arsenal are moving on to Eberechi Eze after agreeing personal terms
Eze enjoyed an exceptional 2024/25 season, netting 14 goals and providing 12 assists for Crystal Palace across all competitions.
Arsenal have identified Eze as a top target, and believe that the 27-year-old will provide Mikel Arteta’s side with attributes that they currently lack, which will lead them to the Premier League title.
That said, given the significant amount of money that the North London club have already outlaid this summer, there are understandably question marks in public discourse about whether they still have the capacity to make another marquee addition.
According to journalist Steve Kay, they do, and are already planning to swiftly turn their attention to Eze after securing other deals this week.
“Today I was told that the next one they’re moving on to will be Eze,” Kay said on the KS1 TV YouTube channel.
“That wasn’t from the source that sometimes I mention on here. It wasn’t from him, but it was from a very, very reliable source who’s always spot on regarding Arsenal news.
“I’ve never known him to tell me something that’s wrong. And he told me today that he will be the next one they’ll be trying to bring in. So, if he’s wrong, this guy that’s told me this, it’ll be the first time he’s ever told me something that won’t happen.
“But there’s these negotiations and they have to agree on fees, that’s all got to go ahead. So, I’m not saying it’s rubber-stamped, but my information is that it’s very advanced regarding the player side.
“So advanced that literally more or less everything’s done, and as he’s put his thumbs up to wanting to come. So, yeah, Arsenal have already had a conversation with Palace, they’ve started talks and this week talks will continue and they’re expected to advance.
“There will be talks over the release clause, and there’ll be talks about how to pay that release clause off. I’ve heard that Arsenal would be willing to offer a player plus cash, which makes a lot of sense to me.”

Eberechi Eze’s statistics 2024/25
These reports suggest that Arsenal will certainly try and get a deal for Eze over the line, and that there is a desire within the Gunners camp to do so.
While there are question marks about whether spending a significant sum on a 27-year-old whose role in the team isn’t obvious is an astute piece of business, the England international would represent an exciting signing for Arsenal fans nevertheless.
A boyhood Gunners supporter, Eze has key characteristics that Arsenal do not currently have, and these are reflected in his stats.
| Eberechi Eze’s Premier League Statistics 2024/25 | |
| Appearances | 34 |
| Goals | 8 |
| Assists | 8 |
| Shots per 90 | 3.48 |
| Expected Goals per 90 | 0.36 |
| Key Passes per 90 | 2.01 |
| Expected Assists per 90 | 0.22 |
| Successful Take-ons per 90 | 2.33 |
Arsenal’s shot volume decreased significantly last season, with only Bukayo Saka taking more than three shots per 90 minutes in Arteta’s squad.
Eze takes almost 3.5 shots per game, while also accumulating 0.36 expected goals.
The Gunners need to let fly from distance more frequently, and the ex-QPR man does this, while he also completes 2.33 dribbles per 90 minutes.
Arsenal are desperate for more players who can drive past people in central spaces, which is a key facet of Eze’s game that has caught the eye in recent seasons.
