What could force Arsenal to change their minds about selling Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli

Arsenal are now entering a different phase of their transfer plans for this summer’s window.

Having already recruited three new acquisitions, Andrea Berta is hard at work trying to add more attacking firepower to Mikel Arteta’s repertoire.

Noni Madueke is completing his Arsenal medical and there are hopes that Viktor Gyokeres and Cristhian Mosquera will join the England international in signing this week.

Attentions will then turn to balancing the books and Arsenal are looking to sell a number of first-team players in order to raise funds for further attacking signings. However, their stance may have just changed on two key players.

Arsenal could sell Gabriel Martinelli or Leandro Trossard to fund further recruitment

With the possibility of six new signings before the club’s pre-season tour to Asia, the Gunners are now looking to trim their squad and there has been speculation over the futures of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.

Both players have attracted interest from Bayern Munich and according to the Athletic, a sale of one of the duo could help fund further signings at the Emirates.

The report claims: “There is a certain degree of intrigue around the left-sided pair of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard. Arteta values both players, but if a sale could unlock a deal for one of Arsenal’s remaining targets, that could change things. As yet, there are no significant developments.”

Trossard is still in talks with the club over a new contract but there has been no breakthrough in those negotiations and the Gunners could now cash in on the 30-year-old.

Martinelli has been inconsistent over the last two seasons and the feeling is that he could recoup a large proportion of the transfer layout this summer should he be allowed to leave the club.

The sale of either player would go a long way to helping Arsenal secure another attacking target with Eberechi Eze and Rodrygo both attracting interest.

How much could Arsenal realistically generate from player sales this summer?

Even without the sale of either Trossard or Martinelli, the Gunners will be hoping to secure a decent amount of money with other departures.

Oleksandr Zinchenko is attracting plenty of interest and is valued around the £15m mark, alongside Reiss Nelson.

Jakub Kiwior would cost clubs around £30m after his impressive end to last season and the Gunners would want to get as close to £20m for Fabio Vieira.

Albert Sambi Lokonga remains at the club and available to buy, therefore Berta could be looking at approximately £90m in player sales without the addition of Martinelli or Trossard.
