Viktor Gyokeres is on the verge of completing his transfer from Sporting CP to Arsenal for £63 million.
After a protracted saga involving the likes of Benjamin Sesko and Ollie Watkins, the Gunners appear to have finally settled on their man, with Andrea Berta opting for the win-now signing in the Swedish star.
Arsenal will pay Sporting an initial £55 million, with a further £8 million in achievable performance-related add-ons to come for the Portuguese giants.
Gyokeres netted 54 goals in 52 games across all competitions last season, and will be hoping to replicate this outstanding goalscoring form at the Emirates.

Viktor Gyokeres spotted moving furniture before Arsenal move
David Ornstein revealed earlier this week that Arsenal have one final complication to sort out in the Gyokeres deal.
This minor detail must now have been resolved, with the 27-year-old seemingly preparing to move from Lisbon to London.
CNN Portugal captured an image from outside of Gyokeres’ residence in the Portuguese capital on Thursday morning.
The photograph showed a removal van with the back door open, exposing the furniture inside the vehicle.
Clearly setting up to leave Portugal and start his new life in London, this essentially confirms that Gyokeres is merely a medical away from completing his switch to N5.

Viktor Gyokeres’ statistics
Arsenal reportedly have some internal doubts about Gyokeres, despite moving for the player.
There are said to be concerns about how his form might translate from the Primeira Liga to the Premier League, and these fears are certainly understandable.
However, his numbers from Portugal were simply exceptional, and even if his output is cut by more than 50%, he’ll still be providing value for money at Arsenal.
| Viktor Gyokeres’ Primeira Liga Statistics 2024/25 | |
| Appearances | 33 |
| Goals | 39 |
| Assists | 7 |
| Shots per 90 | 4.08 |
| Expected Goals per 90 | 0.99 |
| Key Passes per 90 | 1.96 |
| Expected Assists per 90 | 0.22 |
As shown by the data above, finding himself in goal-scoring positions and getting shots off won’t be a problem for Gyokeres, even against significantly better defenders.
The Sweden international takes over four shots per 90, accumulating 0.99 expected goals, with his movement in and around the box of the highest quality.
Also excelling creatively, there is a lot to be encouraged about when looking at Gyokeres’ underlying data.
