Arsenal picked up a hard-dought 2-0 win over Crystal Palace last night, and our new boy, Oleksandr Zinchenko, has his own song already. Here’s a look at the lyrics.

The Gunners signed the Ukraine international in a £32 million deal from Manchester City two weeks ago (Sky Sports). He featured in our final two pre-season games against Chelsea and Sevilla, and Mikel Arteta decided to hand him his Premier League debut in Arsenal’s colours last night.

7 Footballers Who Are The GOAT For TWO Clubs

Zinchenko really impressed, and Arsenal fans in the away end at Selhurst Park welcomed him to the club with a fantastic song for him.

Lyrics of the new Zinchenko song as Arsenal fans copy N’Golo Kante chant

Arsenal fans’ song for Zinchenko is inspired by the hit ’80s track Gold by Spandau Ballet. It was released almost 29 years ago.

The lyrics of Arsenal’s variation of the song goes: “Always believe in, Zinchenko, oh, oh! Always believe in your soul. You’ve got the power to know, you’re indestructible!”

If this chant on a football pitch rings a bell for you, it’s probably because Chelsea supporters sing this for N’Golo Kante.

The lyrics of that goes, as per “Ngolo Oh! Kante will win you the ball, You’ve got the power to know, You’re indestructible, Always believe in, Ngolo oh!”

Brilliant debut

Zinchenko made his first start in an Arsenal shirt in the Premier League last night, and we noticed very quickly how intelligent he is.

The Ukrainian’s positioning, movement and ability to anticipate danger is top class. He was really impressive last night and even picked up an assist for Gabriel Martinelli’s opener.

Zinchenko looked knackered at the end and Mikel Arteta took him off. Kieran Tierney replaced him for the final few minutes of the game, and it will be interesting to see which one of them will be the Arsenal boss’ first-choice left-back when they’re both fit.

As things stand, following last night’s performance, we expect Zinchenko to keep his place.
