Arsenal U18s secured a dramatic 2-1 win over Manchester City in the semi-final of the FA Youth Cup last night, and young Michal Rosiak was one of the stars of the show.

Goals from the 17-year-old Rosiak and Myles Lewis-Skelly sealed the game for the young Gunners, who completely dominated the clash at the Emirates.

Rosiak will remember this goal for a long, long time, especially if Arsenal can go on and win the competition for the first time since Jack Wilshere was a youth team player.

Arsenal started the game well and were given a huge advantage when City’s Lakyle Samuel was sent off after just six minutes for bringing down Omari Benjamin when he was through on goal.

It was the right decision and Arsenal U18s were in the driving seat from that point.

Rosiak took the resulting free-kick and scored an absolute stunner to give us the lead in front of over 10,000 fans at the Emirates Stadium.

City resiliently pulled one back to push the game to extra time. That created a bit of nervous energy around the stadium, as nobody really wanted a penalty shootout to decide such a big game.

Thankfully, Lewis-Skelly sealed the tie in the final seconds by heading home a beautiful ball from Bradley Ibrahim. That was the perfect way to end the game that we dominated for large parts, and we now wait to take on either West Ham United or Southampton in the final.

Rosiak’s goal has been making waves on social media and fans absolutely love him now. If you haven’t watched it yet, we’ve got you covered.

The Insider’s View:

A right-back’s primary job is to defend, but Rosiak has added goals to his game this season, which is a huge blessing.

The 17-year-old has scored four goals in five FA Youth Cup games so far this campaign, and after watching him play last night, you would back him to find the net again in the final.

Hale End really deserves more credit than it gets, doesn’t it? We’re producing gems year after year, and our academy now is probably in the best position than it has ever been in the past.

Rosiak’s goal will now make him a popular name, and fans will be keeping an eye on him as he develops further in the coming years.
