Arsenal have a number of promising teenagers coming through the ranks and Kido Taylor-Hart is arguably the most exciting among all of them.
The 18-year-old had a really impressive campaign for the youth sides last season. He scored 11 goals and provided five assists in 20 appearances, which is a very good return. What makes that even more impressive is that he played in a variety of positions last term.
Taylor-Hart is hugely versatile. He can play on both wings, in a number 10 role, as a box-to-box midfielder and also as a second-striker. He has a really bright future ahead of him and it is no surprise that Arsenal have been desperate to extend his deal.
The youngster is technically a free agent at the moment.
His contract expired at the end of last month, but reports have revealed that he has penned a new long-term deal at the club, and that should be announced in the coming days. (Football London)
Kido Taylor-Hart responds to Arsenal fan’s criticism
Most Arsenal fans can’t wait to see Taylor-Hart develop and break into the first team in the very near future. However, one supporter expressed his concerns on Twitter, and the teenager decided to respond.
The Insider’s View:
George, the Arsenal supporter who had his say on Taylor-Hart, certainly has a point there. The teenager often has moments in games where it seems like he’s not fully focused, and that has to improve to get to the top level.
However, it is important to note that Taylor-Hart is still only 18. He only made his Premier League 2 debut last season, featured in multiple different positions and he played in a side that only won six of their 24 games in the competition.
All those factors made things extremely difficult for Taylor-Hart, but his numbers of six goals and four assists in just nine starts remain extremely impressive. The Arsenal fan’s criticism is understandable, but it’s still slightly harsh in our opinion.
