Arsenal’s Max Dowman has impressed once again after starring for the under-18s in their win over Reading on Saturday afternoon.

Dowman is making waves in the Hale End academy, establishing himself as a regular at under-18 level, despite only turning 15 in December.

The creative midfielder has been in fine form, registering six goals and an assist in his last three games before the clash with Reading.

Ashley Cole warned Arsenal fans not to put too much pressure on Dowman, but this temperament is certainly difficult for the Gunners faithful to adhere to, particularly after the youngster’s latest exploits.

Max Dowman scores four goals for Arsenal’s under-18s against Leicester

Adding to his recent tally, Dowman netted four goals against Reading on Saturday afternoon, meaning he’s scored ten times in his last four matches.

The Arsenal under-18s ran out 4-0 winners over the Berkshire side, with the result moving the Gunners to within a point of league leaders Chelsea, who they have two games in hand over.

Dowman gave Arsenal the lead inside the opening 12 minutes, beating several Reading players before tucking home from the edge of the box.

Converting a penalty for his second, he then completed his hat-trick before the hour mark, capitalising on a Reading mistake to put the game beyond doubt.

Bundling the ball over the line for his fourth, it was a truly exceptional all-round display from the supremely talented starlet.

Inevitably, the teenager is attracting interest from elsewhere, but Arsenal are confident that Dowman will remain at the club, and they have a route to the first team mapped out for him.

Arsenal fans react to Max Dowman scoring four goals

Despite Cole’s defiant warning, Arsenal fans couldn’t help but express their excitement over what they’re witnessing from Dowman on social media after his four goals.

One fan simply wrote: “Something tells me 15-year-old Max Dowman is too good for this level…”

Another added: “Max Dowman is seriously special. Declan Rice called him, ‘the best 15-year-old in the country’, and today he showed why, scoring twice in the first half against Reading. This kid is a joke!”

One supporter wrote, before Dowman had even buried the final goal: Another hat-trick for Max Dowman. At this age, arguably the best ever player in Arsenal’s academy.”

Meanwhile, another fan posited: “Max Dowman makes it 4-0, of course he has scored all four of them. Arsenal under-18s are a force to be reckoned with in this battle for the League title. Going head-to-head with Chelsea and [Aston] Villa.”

Finally, one fan referenced Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal when posting about Dowman: “Hey Lamine Yamal, Max Dowman is here. We’re all good.”

If he continues producing at the rate that he is, he’s bound to get a look-in at senior level next season.
