What Max Dowman just did for England under-17s shows why Arsenal think they have the next big wonderkid

Arsenal youngster Max Dowman was up to his usual tricks again during the international break as he stole the show for the England under-17s.

Gaining quite a reputation for being one of the next big wonderkids to come through the Hale End academy, the 15-year-old continues to show exactly why.

Mikel Arteta has shown faith in calling Max Dowman up to senior Arsenal training on several occasions already, outlining his rapid development.

Recent performances in the youth ranks have led to praise, with John Terry waxing lyrical about Dowman following the Gunners’ clash with Chelsea for the under-18s.

The international break has offered a chance for the youngster to switch scenery, playing for the England under-17s and impressing too.

Max Dowman scores outrageous goal for England against Northern Ireland in under-17s match

Max Dowman has often looked as though he is playing above his age in the youth side, rapidly ascending through the ranks.

That has certainly been the case again over the international break as Dowman impressed for England under-17s in their opening two matches.

The third of those came against Northern Ireland under-17s, where the Arsenal youngster was given another start.

In a 5-0 thrashing of their opponents, Dowman managed to dribble his way through a whole crowd of bodies before scoring a simply outrageous goal for the Young Lions.

The 15-year-old somehow managed to shrug off several players, keep control of the ball and his composure before sliding it home.

It shows exactly why Arsenal are working to keep hold of Dowman, with the youngster certainly one for the future.

Arsenal fans hype up Max Dowman

After watching such a fantastic goal, Arsenal fans were full of praise for Max Dowman and the potential he has.

“Max Dowman has scored for the England U17s tonight! The Arsenal boys have been cooking on international duty this break!” one fan said.

“Nwaneri, MLS and Dowman we are going to dominate English football for 10 years,” another added.

Praise continued with: “This kid is crazy,” and “Max Dowman is the best English talent of the last 20 years.”

Praise for Hale End came in with: “We’ve not yet reached peak Saka, Nwaneri comes through, we still milking Nwaneri then there’s Dowman cooking players like this already at 15. Hale End is doing a great job.”

“Max Dowman is on an alien level. Don’t really want to hype up a 15-year-old old but you people are losing sleep over Ethan’s and Myles’ quality. Oh boy…” another fan added.

Dowman has plenty of potential, but lots of the journey left ahead of him before he reaches where he wants to be.
