The Arsenal academy is full of talent, but one of the next up-and-coming wonderkids at the club appears to be Max Dowman.
The youngster burst onto the first-team scene when he was spotted in first-team training with Mikel Arteta and the squad, aged just 14 years old at the time.
With Max Dowman’s presence more familiar now in those training sessions, he is still continuing to progress in the Hale End academy.
While some may know of the starlet, many may not be so familiar, so here’s a look at all you need to know about the next Arsenal wonderkid.

What is Max Dowman’s age and when is his birthday?
Max Dowman was born on December 31, 2009, which makes him just 15 years old at the time of writing.
The youngster is just at the start of his career, with hopes of one day becoming a regular senior team player in the future.
What is Max Dowman’s height?
Max Dowman measures in at roughly 1.73 metres tall – or approximately five feet and eight inches in height.
What position does Max Dowman play?
So far in his early career, Max Dowman has played as a midfielder – often capable of playing in central midfield or as an attacking midfielder.
The 15-year-old has also featured on the right wing, though he is predominantly left-footed.

Can Max Dowman play for the Arsenal senior team?
As it stands, due to rules and regulations, Max Dowman is unable to make his first appearance in a first-team squad during the 2024/25 season in either the Premier League or Champions League.
Players can only feature in the senior team during certain age time frames related to the season, meaning the earliest he could play is during the 2025/26 season.
It means Dowman will be a few months older than Ethan Nwaneri when he made his debut, which made him the youngest-ever Arsenal player.
The midfielder has broken plenty of age-related records already in the academy though, and technically Dowman could’ve made his debut against Manchester United in the FA Cup – due to how those regulations work – but he wasn’t involved in the squad.
Max Dowman England international career
Max Dowman has featured on the international stage for the England youth sides, playing a handful of matches for different age groups.
He has already played for the Three Lions in the under-16s and under-17s teams, with the aim of climbing those ranks.
What Mikel Arteta has said about Max Dowman
With some glimpses of his talent shown in training, Mikel Arteta has already spoken about the impressive qualities of Max Dowman.
Speaking in January 2025, he told the press: “Very impressive, at his age as well. Some of the things he does in training are unbelievable. He’s a player obviously with a huge talent that we have a lot of belief that we can develop him into becoming one of our own and he’s doing very well so far.
“At the moment, with all of the legislation, there are restrictions with his age, something that in other countries you don’t even mention. So, we’ll have to wait and see [on senior minutes].
“He’s taking very fast steps because every time you put him in a different challenge, different level, he overcomes ahead pretty quickly, which is great. We are on it.”
It suggests the Arsenal boss would’ve handed some senior minutes to him already if he could, though the wait goes on for the debut for now.
