As well as an excellent afternoon at the Emirates, Arsenal fans were also treated to a late winner by out-on-loan Charlie Patino yesterday.

The popular 20-year-old scored a dramatic equaliser in the 94th minute for Swansea City, a goal that typified his quality.

Patino made a tackle close to the half-way to win the ball before nonchalantly dispatching a finish into the bottom corner from outside the box.

The goal can be seen here in Sky Sports’ highlight package at 1:39, a treat for all of an Arsenal persuasion.

And following the goal, Arsenal fans are now all saying the same thing about Patino.

Reflecting on the goal on X, one fan said that Arsenal have finally found their Granit Xhaka replacement.

They said: “He is the perfect replacement for Xhaka, a player with pace.”

Another said: “He always looks so calm in his game. He will hopefully have a great future at Arsenal.”

And one fan was convinced that Patino could be a player of Frenkie De Jong’s ability for Arsenal.

They said: “He’s our De Jong and no one can tell me otherwise. Can’t wait for him to be a regular starter for us.”

Arsenal fans are so excited to see Charlie Patino return to the club

Of course, it’s no foregone conclusion that Patino does have a permanent future at Arsenal.

The club were seemingly willing to let him leave the club this summer only before a late u-turn which saw him head out on loan.

However, with the number eight spot at Arsenal still not having a permanent resident, Leandro Trossard the latest to stake his claim, Patino may have a chance.

The youngster has always been cherished by Arsenal fans, a player considered to have so much potential.

And given how many games he has now amassed in the Championship, it certainly wouldn’t be a surprise if he was deemed ready next season.

Although they’ll enjoy Arsenal’s upwards trajectory of late, one that can now attract world class talent, fans will still want to see academy talents like Patino getting their chance.

And speaking of what those fans will enjoy seeing, one Arsenal man’s return to form will have delighted those watching on at the Emirates
