The latest news, rumours, opinions and updates about former Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka from Arsenal Insider. Xhaka enjoyed seven years at Emirates Stadium from joining in May 2016 up to leaving in July 2023. He cost the Gunners £35m to sign from Borussia Monchengladbach.
Arsene Wenger brought Xhaka to the Premier League after tracking the Switzerland technician for some time. Xhaka made his Arsenal debut against Liverpool in a Premier League fixture in August 2016. He ultimately left the Gunners for Bayer Leverkusen after 297 games for £21.5m.
Xhaka scored 23 and assisted 29 goals in all competitions during his time at Emirates Stadium, as well. The midfield anchor also helped the Gunners win the FA Cup in 2017 and 2020 with titles under Wenger and Mikel Arteta. He also won the Community Shield in the same years.
