According to Football London, a swap deal involving Arsenal star Hector Bellerin and Atletico Madrid full-back Kieran Trippier is something the Gunners are ‘genuinely’ looking into.

Rumours throughout the summer transfer window have made it clear to us that Bellerin wants to leave the Emirates. The Spaniard has been a fantastic servant for our club, but it’s now the right time for both parties to go their separate ways.

The 26-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Inter Milan in recent weeks. A deal even looked imminent at one point, but the Nerazzurri couldn’t meet our demands, and the move collapsed as a result. (Read more)

Bellerin is stuck at Arsenal at the moment, but he’s desperate to leave. Edu and Mikel Arteta want him gone as well, so, the Gunners are willing to use him in a swap deal that would see ex-Tottenham star Tripper come to the Emirates before the end of this window.

Arsenal fans are still traumatised by our last swap deal – Alexis Sanchez for Henrikh Mkhitaryan. However, some supporters seem keen on signing Trippier, despite his Tottenham connections.

The Englishman is by no means a bad player. He has always been good with the ball at his feet and ever since he moved to Atletico Madrid, his defensive qualities have improved considerably as well.

Yes, age is a big factor here. He will turn 31 next month and that is completely against what we’re trying to build at the Emirates. However, some fans aren’t too bothered by that if reactions on social media are anything to go by.
