Arsenal battered Watford 4-1 at London Colney yesterday and Kieran Tierney got into a fight with an opponent – in a meaningless pre-season friendly.

The Scotsman has never really had a bad game for Arsenal in his two years here. He has almost always been excellent for us, but his attitude, commitment, character and passion on the pitch is what makes him a fan favourite.

Arsenal fans got to witness that passion and commitment once again yesterday, and it is safe to say, all of us absolutely loved what he did.

In the 73rd minute of the game, something really annoyed Tierney near the halfway line. In typical KT style, he had a real go at a Watford player and everyone had to seperate the pair.

Even Mikel Arteta, who was enjoying a good game from the bench, ran onto the pitch to hold Tierney back. The Arsenal boss had to pull the defender out of the scene and calm him down, and Gooners absolutely loved that.

Yesterday’s incident is an excellent example of Tierney’s attitude on a football pitch. He didn’t care that it was a meaningless pre-season friendly, he saw something he didn’t like, and he decided to speak out.

That is the sort of mentality we want from every player in our football club. Tierney is an example to every one of his teammates, and Arsenal fans love him even more now.
