Arsenal fans have been devoid of positive news since the start of the new Premier League season, but Fabrizio Romano has an update on Willian that will surely put a smile on every Gooner’s face.

It is no secret at this point that Arsenal want to get rid of Willian. The Brazilian, signed on a free transfer from Chelsea last year, has sadly been one of our worst signings over the last two decades.

Everything he has tried to do at Arsenal has failed. He has fallen down the pecking order under Mikel Arteta as a result, and it makes no sense for him at this stage of his career to sit on the bench more often than not.

Fabrizio Romano: Corinthians want Arsenal attacker Willian

Willian wants to leave Arsenal and the Gunners want him gone as well. It’s a straightforward deal to get him out at first glance, but his wages have always remained a huge stumbling block in negotiations with any club.

If Willian decides to lower his demands considerably, he will have a huge chance of returning to the club where it all started for him – Corinthians.

Romano revealed yesterday that an offer from the Brazilian giants is on the table and that Willian is tempted to return as well. He also claimed that Arsenal are willing to let him go for free, which should make it a lot easier for Corinthians to lure their former prodigy back home.

It’s the best thing for all parties now that Willian leaves. He will get a hero’s welcome back home in Brazil, Arsenal will save a ton of money in wages, and a spot in the squad will free up for us to fill in before the window shuts.
