Arsenal are in a much better place now than they were just five years ago, and this is on a number of fronts.

The most obvious metric is results and league positions, but this is the end result of things being sorted out in training, in the dressing room and in the boardroom.

It wasn’t all that long ago that Arsenal were struggling to reach the top four, while their player retention left a lot to be desired.

All that has changed now, with Arsenal excelling on both fronts, along with being able to sign the top players.

And there is another aspect in which Arsenal are doing well – so much so, in fact, they have effectively created £216million worth of assets out of thin air.

Bukayo Saka, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly valued at over £216million

Arsenal’s academy has always been high quality, but in recent years, they have really gone to the next level.

Bukayo Saka, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly have all graduated from the Hale End setup to become first-team players at Arsenal.

Sky Sports have published an article about how Arsenal’s star youth graduates have contributed hugely to their squad’s overall value, and how it is hoped that Max Dowman will be next.

The outlet, citing Transfermarkt, noted how Saka is now valued at £129.3million, while Nwaneri’s valuation is currently £48million and Lewis-Skelly’s valuation stands at £39million.

‘The hope is that they will continue to grow and develop, and that Dowman will be next,’ they wrote.

Based on the above valuations, the trio of Saka, Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly are worth a combined £216.3million.

How Arsenal have already made £52million from selling academy stars

Just last year, Arsenal made £52million in pure profit by selling two highly-rated academy graduates.

In 2024, Arsenal sold Eddie Nketiah to Crystal Palace for a reported £25million up front, plus £5million in add-ons.

The same summer, the Gunners sold Emile Smith Rowe to Fulham for a reported £27million, which could go up to £34million with add-ons.

Arsenal are in talks to sell Reiss Nelson to Fulham, so the Gunners could yet make more pure profit this summer.

A great academy that produces superb young players who can cut it in the first team is not only great from a sporting perspective, but from a financial one too.

Indeed, Arsenal’s academy could potentially help the club out of PSR or FFP issues further down the line.
