Arsenal star Ethan Nwaneri is one of the best young players in the world.

The Englishman has been a household name for a while now, but he is still only 18 years old and is nowhere near his prime.

Nwaneri signed a new five-year contract at Arsenal on Friday, and that is excellent news for the Gunners, as there were some concerns about his future a couple of months ago.

Everything is now set for Nwaneri to write his history at Arsenal – more so than he already has.

The record Ethan Nwaneri set that will never be broken at Arsenal

Ethan Nwaneri has already set, broken or equalled a few incredible records.

The England U21 international became the youngest player to make an appearance in the history of the Premier League, while no Arsenal player ever managed to score more goals than him before turning 18.

Those are two incredible achievements, but there is every chance that someone else will break them in the coming years.

However, there is one record that will stay with Nwaneri forever.

In 2022, when Nwaneri made his senior Arsenal debut against Brentford, the 18-year-old became the first player who was born after the Emirates Stadium was constructed to play for the Gunners.

Arsenal’s first game at the Emirates took place on July 22, 2006. It was Dennis Bergkamp’s testimonial.

Nwaneri was born almost eight months later at Whittington Hospital, which is situated just two miles away from the Emirates.

He was always destined to play for Arsenal.

Ethan Nwaneri has changed ahead of the 2025/26 season

Even though Nwaneri made his senior Arsenal debut in 2022, last season was his breakthrough campaign.

However, Nwaneri feels that the 2025/26 season will be his real first campaign because he will be a lot closer to the dressing room, having turned 18 in March.

That is why the youngster is so excited, and as fans noticed earlier in pre-season, Nwaneri has bulked up and looks a lot stronger than he did before.

“I’ve had to adapt to the demands of the Premier League, so I think I’ve changed physically, but also mentally as well in terms of dealing with setbacks and injuries,” he told Arsenal.com. “I think I’ve definitely become stronger.

“I think I’ve actually become more direct over the past few years, and I’ve added more goals, so I’m excited for what will come next.”
