Arsenal have travelled to Singapore for the first leg of their pre-season tour.

The Gunners face AC Milan on Wednesday, before taking on Premier League rivals Newcastle United in the same stadium on Sunday.

Then, Mikel Arteta’s men head to Hong Kong for a game against Tottenham Hotspur in what will be the first North London Derby outside England.

Arsenal fans are excited to see many of their players in action in Asia, but after seeing Ethan Nwaneri in training, the supporters are all stunned.

The 18-year-old appears to have bulked up, and that has increased the excitement level among the fan base as Nwaneri will be an even better player in the Premier League if his physicality is no longer an issue.

Arsenal fans react to Ethan Nwaneri looking bigger in pre-season training

Nwaneri didn’t have the whole summer off like many of his teammates; he was involved with the England U19s side at the Euros.

The teenager did get a break after the end of the tournament, but Nwaneri was hard at work before he joined up with the Arsenal squad as well.

That effort is very visible – the youngster seems to have bulked up in the picture above. Arsenal fans are all very impressed.

One Arsenal fan tweeted: “Woah! He looks strong! Like a new signing.”

Another wrote: “My boy is bulking up!”

“He has added at least 3kg of muscle already. It’s so, so over for the rest very soon,” said another.

Another said: “Nwaneri is a beast now. Look at that physique!”

“He’s got more muscle than Martin Odegaard,” said another.

Ethan Nwaneri could have a huge season

Nwaneri handled the physicality of the Premier League fairly well when he played last season.

Yes, the 18-year-old wasn’t the strongest player on the pitch, but the way he took defenders on showed that he was ready to play at the highest level.

Now, the added physicality is going to help Nwaneri even more as it will be a lot more difficult for defenders to push him off the ball.

That could seriously benefit Arsenal, whose main man in that number 10 position, Odegaard, does have the tendency to get physically overpowered by bigger midfielders.

We think Nwaneri will have a big season at Arsenal in 2025/26.
