Mesut Ozil is fondly remembered for his impressive displays at Arsenal, where he made himself a star after leaving Real Madrid.
The playmaker was capable of magic in his time at the Emirates Stadium, keeping opposition defenders and goalkeepers on tenterhooks.
While he was a force for creation in the Arsenal forward line, Mesut Ozil was also capable of scoring goals when given the chance.
Some of those best goals included a bizarre finishing technique where the ball would bounce into the ground and then loop into the back of the net.
Ozil has since discussed how to do the skill that many fans have tried their best to recreate.

How to do the Mesut Ozil bounce pass and shot
The Mesut Ozil bounce trick became something of a trademark as the Arsenal star continually surprised the opposition with his special technique.
It isn’t an easy one to recreate either, with a certain amount of power needed to get the bounce and left, but a deft enough connection to get it to lift off to begin with.
He explained why he made the bounce shot in 2020 when he said on the Arsenal YouTube channel: “If I am in front of the goal and the goalkeeper is running and jumping like that [sideways], so if you make chip sometimes the defender can clear.
“So if you chip the ball, the ball goes slowly to the goal but if you go like that [the bounce shot], it’s still a chip but it’s quicker.”
Adding an explanation on the move, he said: “You do it like that [cutting motion with his foot] with power so the ball is going over the goalkeeper and don’t forget they are always jumping to left or right.
“So if they jump, if you show them you will shoot, do it like that [stamping motion], they are jumping and they never expect that.”

Mesut Ozil’s best bounce shot goal at Arsenal
Ozil may well be the first and last to use the bounce shot technique, given how well he was able to execute it.
The playmaker continued it throughout his career, even displaying it a few times after leaving Arsenal.
His best effort may well be the goal he scored against Liverpool in the 2017/18 season at the Emirates Stadium.
Completing a quick turnaround for the Gunners, Alexandre Lacazette played Ozil through on goal, where he cooly beat the outstretched hand of Simon Mignolet.
It sent the crowd into a frenzy, though it ultimately ended as a 3-3 draw between the two sides on the day.
Whether Arsenal will witness a goal quite as good as that ever again is unclear, with it being quite the bar to clear.
