Arsenal are still on the market for a new man in the middle of the park, and here’s a look at three midfielders who we could sign on transfer deadline day.

The Gunners have been linked with plenty of names over the last two months, but we are yet to bring in an out-and-out central midfielder. Following injuries to Mo Elneny and Thomas Partey, Edu and Mikel Arteta could dive into the market on the final day to strengthen the most important area of our pitch.

Youri Tielemans

The Belgian has been linked with a move to Arsenal for months.

Tielemans is a fantastic player and he checks many boxes. He’s excellent on the ball, can play anywhere across central midfield, knows the Premier League really well, is still only 25 and has entered the final year of his contract.

It has been reported that he’s open to a move to Arsenal as well, and after months of waiting for a bid to arrive, the Leicester City man could finally get his big move on transfer deadline day.

Danilo

Goal Brazil reported this morning that Arsenal have tabled a £20 million bid to sign Danilo from Brazilian side Palmeiras.

The 21-year-old is among the most talented defensive midfielders in South America at the moment, and he has been on Arsenal’s radar for quite a while.

With both Partey and Elneny set for a spell on the sidelines, Edu could well dive into the Brazilian market that he knows so well to get a deal done for young Danilo before the window shuts tomorrow night.

Arthur Melo

90min reveal today that Arsenal have been offered a chance to sign Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo…again.

The Brazilian has long been linked with a move to the Emirates. A deal even looked imminent at one point in the January transfer window, but it did not materialise in the end.

Arthur is definitely not a long-term solution for us, but on a loan deal until the end of the season, he could be a very smart option. The fact that Juventus want to get rid of him should help us if we decide to revive our past interest late on deadline day tomorrow.
