Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano delivered an update on Twitter on the futures of four Arsenal players ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Gunners have a lot of work to do on the transfer market – in terms of new signings as well as outgoings. Edu will have to move multiple players on this summer, and it looks he has started working on a few of them already.

Fabrizio Romano: Xhaka, Willian and Guendouzi will leave Arsenal

Romano has revealed that Granit Xhaka, Willian and Matteo Guendouzi will all leave the club this summer. The former is on his way to AS Roma, while the Frenchman is reportedly close to leaving us for Marseille.

Willian’s situation is a difficult one. It is no secret now that both Arsenal and the Brazilian want to part ways, but the three-year contract he signed last summer will surely complicate things. However, it’s good that Edu is working to get him out.

The potential sales of Xhaka, Willian and Guendouzi is good news, but things get better. Romano has also revealed that Emile Smith Rowe is close to agreeing a new deal that will tie him up until 2026.

That is arguably the best news we’ve heard all year.

Although all of us knew that Smith Rowe was going nowhere, it was worrying to see this deal dragging on. Thankfully, it will be wrapped up very soon, and it’ll be one of Arsenal’s best moves this summer.

Smith Rowe has been our star man since Boxing Day. He almost singlehandedly changed our fortunes last season, and there is absolutely no doubt about the fact that he will be even better next term.

Gooners, predictably, are delighted with Fabrizio Romano’s update.
