Ian Wright clearly had a vision of what would unfold when Arsenal hosted Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup fourth round.
There was no magic of the FA Cup on show for Wigan at the Emirates, as the League One strugglers lost 4-0 to Mikel Arteta’s Premier League leaders.
Several Arsenal players wowed against Wigan, two of whom scored the opening goals, Gabriel Martinelli and Noni Madueke.
Madueke and Martinelli were on fire to really test the Latics, with the other goals coming from Gabriel Jesus and another own goal.
Several fans might’ve predicted the goal scorers, but how many predicted that the scoreline would be 4-0? We know one figure who did.

Ian Wright predicted Arsenal vs Wigan scoreline correctly
Pundits predicted that Arsenal would beat Wigan, but club legend Ian Wright went a step further.
Speaking on The Overlap, Wright and the panel were asked their score predictions, and the former Gunner was spot on.
“I’m going 4-0 Arsenal,” Wright said, only for Gary Neville to question his prediction.
“Are you sure?” Neville asked, before predicting a 3-1 scoreline himself.
Neville was wrong, and Wright was correct, with his confident call playing out over 90 minutes at the Emirates to see Arsenal progress to the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Wigan’s Glenn Whelan predicted a different final score against Arsenal
It was always going to be tough for Wigan, not just because of their position in League One, but because of their change at the top.

The Latics sacked Ryan Lowe the weekend prior, leaving assistant managers Glenn Whelan and Graham Barrow to steer the ship at the Emirates.
Barrow praised the respect Arsenal showed, but Whelan thought things could’ve been a lot different.
“After half an hour, everyone was holding their breath to see if it would be a cricket score,” Whelan admitted, via Wigan’s official website.
He then shared that the half-time team talk impacted how the players approached the second half, being 4-0 down at the interval.
“At half-time, we had a chat and spoke about rectifying and trying to work a way out of the situation.”
Wigan marshalled the second half well, with the final 45 minutes ending 0-0.
Still, all of Arsenal’s work was done in the first half, dumping Wigan out of the cup and seeing the Gunners progress into Monday night’s draw.
