Arsenal starlet Ethan Nwaneri is one of the most exciting talents within the Hale End Academy, and it is easy to see why.

Mikel Arteta had his eye on Nwaneri from the moment he became Arsenal manager, and he made the midfielder the youngest player in Premier League history two years ago.

Excitement continues to build around the 17-year-old, who came on as a substitute in Arsenal’s North London derby, and he was handed his first senior start in a Carabao Cup clash with Bolton.

Nwaneri finally had an opportunity in the starting XI alongside Jorginho and Declan Rice, and he grasped it with both hands, scoring twice on his full Arsenal debut.

Arsenal fans were mesmerised by the teenager’s performance, and have taken to X to praise him, claiming that he should keep his starting spot in the Premier League.

Arsenal fans want Ethan Nwaneri to keep his starting spot after debut brace

Arsenal fans have heaped praised on Nwaneri following his outstanding display, highlighting what an incredible talent he is.

“Ethan Nwaneri is absolutely unbelievable btw. the hype is more than justified. we’ve got an absolute baller on our hands,” one fan posted.

“May sound silly, but players who are gonna be superstars always find a way to make it count on important occasions. Nwaneri scoring on his debut has that significance,” another claimed.

“Ethan Nwaneri is so special, you can see it every time he gets the ball, his first touch is class, always puts him in advantage for whatever happens next,” a fan pointed out.

With Martin Odegaard still injured, some now want Nwaneri to start in Arsenal’s next Premier League game against Leicester.

“Give me a reason why Nwaneri can’t start v Leicester this weekend?” A fan posted.

“If there was any doubt at all, surely it’s been put to rest now: Nwaneri has to start against Leicester (he won’t),” a sceptical fan stated.

“Ethan Nwaneri is such an amazing talent for Arsenal. I really think he should start against Leicester this weekend!” A fan highlighted.

Arsenal are yet to find a way to cope without Odegaard, and Leandro Trossard let the team down with his red card against Manchester City.

Nwaneri was superb in all phases of play even beyond his two goals against Bolton, with his technical quality and first-touch standing out even at senior level.

Arsenal’s next two Premier League games will come against struggling promoted sides Leicester and Southampton at home, two fixtures which could provide the perfect platform for Nwaneri to make the step up to that level.

If Nwaneri is selected and Leicester and impresses, Odegaard’s injury will give him a huge chance to earn a place in the starting XI whilst he is absent.
