Arsenal fans were so excited by the return of Gabriel Jesus and have been reminded why Mikel Arteta’s team are so much better when he plays.
Jesus made his first appearance in an Arsenal shirt in 11 months during the Gunners’ 3-0 win over Club Brugge in the Champions League.
The striker was given 28 minutes off the bench away in Belgium, and he was quick to remind many of why he is so highly rated.
On a night when Viktor Gyokeres struggled to get involved, the Brazilian looked very lively when he came on and has left a lot of supporters buzzing to have him back.
Change our mind – Arsenal are at their best as a team when Gabriel Jesus is starting up front…
The Brazilian should start ahead of Merino, Havertz and Gyokeres! 👀
Arsenal fans all think Gabriel Jesus makes his teammates better
Arsenal fans are convinced that Gabriel Jesus actually helps to make the players around him better with the way he can drop deep and link up play.
Jesus, who wants to stay at Arsenal until 2027, has never been the most prolific of strikers, but his all-around play is what makes him such a strong option.
Mikel Merino and Kai Havertz are also good at doing the same, but when the Brazilian is at his best, he is elite at being a link-up striker.
William Saliba was very excited for Jesus’ return, but so were the supporters, who have taken to X to react to the 28-year-old’s cameo.
One fan said: “Gabriel Jesus is far superior to Havertz and Gyokeres in one key aspect. Creativity. He may not be the greatest goalscorer, but he generates so much football. He makes everyone better. If he keeps building up his fitness, he could be crucial for Arsenal.”
“This is why we watch the game. What a footballer. He makes the whole team better around him. Just give us six more months,” added another.
How many goals will Gabriel Jesus score from now until the end of the season? Will he outscore Viktor Gyokeres?
Meanwhile, another fan claimed: “I don’t care how many chances he misses. He makes everyone around him play better.”
There was yet more praise for the Arsenal attacker: “Look how dynamic he is to be available for his teammates in the final third. He is a constant option.”
Finally, another supporter added: This guy just generates so much football. Need him to stay healthy for the rest of the season, and with Havertz returning, we’re only going to get better.”
There is still some way to go before Jesus can regularly start matches for the Gunners, but if he continues to produce cameos as he did against Brugge, he will soon be consistently back in the team.
Mikel Arteta reacts to Gabriel Jesus’ Arsenal return
Mikel Arteta has expressed his delight to see the striker make his first appearance for the club in over 11 months.
“Then, as well, obviously, Gabi Jesus is back after 11 months, and this is a difficult journey that he’s been through with all of us, and to see him perform as well in the manner that he did, really, really positive,” added Arteta.
It’s been a tricky spell on the sidelines for the Brazilian, but now, he is finally back and ready to make an impact for the Gunners.
Arsenal will need him now more than ever, amid Gyokeres’ struggles.
