Gabriel Jesus’ Arsenal future remains in the balance ahead of his return to action, but the striker has just made one thing clear about a possible transfer in January.

Jesus is back in Arsenal training and looking very sharp in front of goal; however, the Brazilian international is already being linked with a move away.

Arsenal are planning to have Jesus ready to play in December ahead of potentially selling for a reasonable fee during the January window.

Recently, Jesus spoke about returning to his former club Palmeiras, but the striker has now given his honest take on leaving the Emirates Stadium in the near future.

Gabriel Jesus wants to stay at Arsenal until 2027

Gabriel Jesus has revealed that he wants to stay at Arsenal until 2027, when his contract with the North London club is due to expire.

Arsenal are excited about Jesus’ return to action, and the player is now eager to get back on the pitch for the Gunners.

Palmeiras have been linked with a move for Jesus, but the striker seems set on staying in London until the end of his contract.

When asked about a return to Brazil, Jesus told Globo Esporte: “It’s a connection of great gratitude on both sides, right? Both from Palmeiras and from me. But more than that, I think it’s also admiration, because I’m very grateful to Palmeiras, it’s the club I support.”

But despite a return to his old club being a dream for him, Jesus is adamant about staying at Arsenal: “I’ve already made it very clear to some professionals there that one day I will return. Not for now.

“For now, I have a contract with Arsenal until 2027, and my desire is to stay. If it ends up that, by both parties, it’s not extended, at least I’ll stay until 2027.”

The Gunners will be eager for Jesus to make a swift return, with Viktor Gyokeres still a doubt to face Tottenham and Kai Havertz suffering a setback in his recovery.

Mikel Arteta will be worried about starting Mikel Merino against Tottenham

With Gyokeres seemingly set to miss the North London derby, Mikel Merino looks set to retake the Swede’s place up front.

Merino actually has a good record in London derbies, with 37.5 percent of his Premier League goals coming in these fixtures.

Although his latest performance against Sunderland, leading the line for the Gunners, wasn’t particularly impressive and this could worry Arteta.

Away at the Stadium of Light, Merino didn’t manage a single shot on target and even lost possession 13 times against the Black Cats.

Thomas Frank’s team will arrive in N5 looking to frustrate Arteta’s side, so they will need to be at it in attack from the off.
