Arsenal fans all say same thing about Leandro Trossard after Newcastle defeat, they’re fuming

Arsenal have been beaten 1-0 by Newcastle United at St James’ Park.

The Gunners had already dropped points in each of their last two Premier League games ahead of their trip to Tyneside, and things have now gone from bad to worse.

Mikel Arteta’s side could end the day eight points behind Manchester City. We’re only 10 games into the season, but that difference could already be too much to overcome.

Arsenal fans, unsurprisingly, are not happy, and they have now had a go at one player – Leandro Trossard.

The Belgian started in attack once again, and he had a very disappointing game. He slowed the game down, created nothing and just had no impact in the final third.

On his day, Trossard has the ability to win games on his own.

The former Brighton man is an excellent finisher, can take players on and is brilliant inside the box. He has produced some excellent moments in an Arsenal shirt, but his performance against Newcastle United on Saturday was one of his worst.

Another wrote: “Nah seriously every single action from Trossard is poor at this point.”

“Trossard has to do more. He’s never involved enough,” said another.

Another supporter tweeted: “Trossard has been pathetic AGAIN.”

“Trossard should never start over Nwaneri as the attacking midfielder,” wrote another.

Trossard’s run in the Arsenal XI could end soon

Arteta needs to accept that Trossard as a number 10 is not the solution.

Yes, the Belgium international can play there and is perhaps more effective centrally than he is out wide. But, his recent performances, especially the one against Newcastle, prove that he needs to spend some time on the bench.

Martin Odegaard is expected to be back on Wednesday when Arsenal take on Inter Milan in the Champions League. Ethan Nwaneri deserves more minutes as well in the number 10 role.

As harsh as it may be, we think Trossard should be dropped following his display at St James’ Park.
