Arsenal produced a dominant display to beat Championship side Preston North End in the EFL Cup fourth round, and there were plenty of impressive performers.
Ethan Nwaneri stole the show with a fantastic goal and a magnificent performance in midfield, whilst Jakub Kiwior aimed to silence his critics with two impressive assists.
One unsung hero of the night was midfield veteran Jorginho, who came in for his first start since Arsenal’s victory over Southampton in early October.
The Italian was superb at Deepdale Stadium, and Arsenal fans have taken to X to praise the veteran.

Arsenal fans want Jorginho to play more after Preston victory
Jorginho was outstanding against Preston, with his variety of passing on full display, and Arsenal fans have lauded him for his performance.
“When Jorginho plays well everything looks so beautiful. What a game from him. Looks sharp and fit too. Been training well. I can tell,” a fan posted on X.
“No one is talking of how tidy Jorginho was the entire game. He single handedly ran the show in the midfield,” another pointed out.
“Love how we have Jorginho who can come into these game and dictate everything,” a third fan stated.
“Those incisive passes from Jorginho are a joy to watch,” a fan beamed.
Jorginho has fallen down the pecking order this season, but fans now want to see him play more.
“Jorginho needs to feature more often,” one fan posted.
“Yep very few players in world football can dictate a game like he does,” another replied.
“Jorginho is such a good mentor and on-field coach. I love the way he is building these youngsters up during play,” another pointed out.
Jorginho is still a vital option for Mikel Arteta
Thomas Partey has been in superb form recently, whilst Declan Rice and Mikel Merino have also featured heavily in midfield, limiting Jorginho’s minutes in recent weeks.
The Italian’s lack of physicality compared to other options makes him unsuitable against certain teams, but a lot of the time, he makes up for it with his supreme intelligence and passing ability.
His performance against Preston showcased the best of Jorginho, as a reliable, experienced player who can deliver consistently despite lacking match sharpness, and the whole team benefitted from his progressive passing into attacking areas.
