Arsenal fans all think Mikel Arteta made a big mistake starting Myles Lewis-Skelly against Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise.
Mikel Arteta brought the defender in from the cold to make his first start since Brighton and Hove Albion in the EFL Cup back in October.
Should Myles Lewis-Skelly have done better for Bayern Munich’s goal?
It was a tough first 45 minutes back for Lewis-Skelly, who was done for Bayern Munich’s equaliser down their right-hand side.
There has been a fair amount of talk about Lewis-Skelly leaving Arsenal on loan and his display against Michael Olise has proved why that is the case.

Arsenal fans on Myles Lewis-Skelly against Michael Olise
Arsenal fans have all noticed that Myles Lewis-Skelly was struggling against Michael Olise in the first half at the Emirates Stadium.
Arteta opted to bring the teenager into the team to replace Riccardo Calafiori, and he just seemed a bit rusty against the Frenchman.
Olise came into the fixture in brilliant form, and he proved himself to be a real threat for the Gunners down Lewis-Skelly’s side.
Oddly enough, though, the German’s goal came when Serge Gnabry switched to right wing, and he picked out Pavlovic after getting the better of Arsenal’s young defender.
The Gunners supporters have taken to social media to express their frustration at Arteta selecting the youngster for such a stern test against Olise.
One fan said: “It’s a great goal, but I think avoidable if Lewis-Skelly has a bit more urgency with his defending, in my opinion.”
“Typical Lewis-Skelly performance so far… Easily dispossessed after a corner and cooked by Olise on Bayern’s first foray down the wing. Anxious and worried are all the feels every time this kid’s in the side for Arsenal,” added another.
There was yet more frustration aimed at the teenager: “MLS shouldn’t be the one marking Olise… Calafiori needs to enter immediately in the 2nd half.”
A fourth fan added: “I honestly don’t get the idea behind starting MLS against Olise.”
“Olise is a fantastic player. Big risk bringing MLS in against him without many minutes under his belt lately,” stated another fan.
Finally, another added: “Olise is getting too much joy down the Arsenal left. MLS needs to wake up.”
Arteta might well need to consider making a change during the interval with Calafiori on the bench.
Chelsea are targeting Myles Lewis-Skelly
Chelsea are targeting a shock move for Lewis-Skelly in January, according to Dean Jones. The Blues are not alone with several clubs assessing his situation in N5.
“Chelsea want Miles Lewis-Skelly. Look, transfers between Chelsea and Arsenal have always been pretty surprising. We’ve seen Ashley Cole, Kai Havertz, and William Gallas,” said Jones.
“They’re just a few of the names that have moved between these two London rivals. And now there’s talk of the Blues targeting Arsenal’s Lewis Skelly.
Should Arsenal send Myles Lewis-Skelly on loan in January?
“Now, I have heard that there is something in this, even if a deal isn’t quite imminent for January. A few clubs are actually looking at this situation at Arsenal and wondering how he’s going to fit in? When’s he going to fit back in?
“Look, I wouldn’t expect the player to leave just yet. He loves Arsenal. He wants to be a success there.”
